Another co-worker of mine just told me about a place that does swimming lessons for kids as young as 6 months old.  I am going to try and get my son into some swimming lessons.  My siblings and I all knew how to swim before the age of 6 years old.  I think it's definitely a good idea for everyone to know how to swim.

  1. I agree. Garret was taught at a very young age (probably as soon as he could speak) swimming lessons (course it helped that his cousins and uncle were instructors; but still good to know). I still hold my nose and would have benefited from knowing.

  2. If I can give you some advice this time, get it done NOW! Get it done before AJ starts taking his own swimming lesson in the bath tub and when it's time for him to take real swimming lesson it want think he already knows and gives the instructor a hard time. I started the girls last summer and Sara did fine, took instruction well and can't wait til next month to continue her lesson. Olivia on the other had has been practicing in the tub and things she has gotten it down pack. She doesn't need anymore lessons and is ready to get in the pool now. It is funny as hell to see her scared to put her head under water but to her she's swimming. So to avoid a Mr. KnowItAll on swimming get it done now before he becomes a tub swimming expert.
